Starring Brad Pitt as Retired Special Forces Officer James Belmont and New Zealand’s newest A-list star, the now world-famous German Shepard Uber as Odin, the retired combat dog, the film opened to a mighty $800k here in New Zealand this weekend, catapulting it to number one for the weekend ahead of other releases RESIDENT EVIL and the re-release of AVENGERS: ENDGAME.
The result marks a strong start for a film that brings together survival, action, and an emotional story about the bond between a man and his dog.
HEART OF THE BEAST has played to audiences young and old nationwide. In the multiplexes and upmarket boutique cinemas in the cities, and in the smaller rural community cinemas up and down the country – Kiwis are really connecting to the emotional side of the movie.
