Hit series Heated Rivalry coming to New Zealand cinemas for marathon screening event
Madman Entertainment is thrilled to announce a one-day-only marathon screening event of critically acclaimed international phenomenon HEATED RIVALRY, in select cinemas on December 5.
A year after the premiere of Season 1, the Crave Original romantic drama about two rival star ice hockey players that captured the hearts of global audiences will skate into cinemas for a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience. Heated Rivalry will be screened in a marathon format, playing all episodes of Season 1 with an intermission between episodes 3 and 4. It will be a nearly 5-hour-long screening event giving fans the opportunity to return to the cottage, experience their favourite scenes on the big screen and celebrate the show’s infectious queer joy with other fans.
Created by Jacob Tierney and based on Rachel Reid’s bestselling novels, Heated Rivalry follows Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie), two of the biggest stars in Major League Hockey, bound by ambition, rivalry and a magnetic pull neither of them fully understands. What begins as a secret fling between two fresh-faced rookies evolves into a years-long journey of love, denial, and self-discovery. Over the next eight years, the pair chase glory on the ice while struggling to navigate their feelings off it. Torn between the sport they live for and the love they can’t ignore, Shane and Ilya must decide if there is room in their fiercely competitive world for something as fragile and as powerful as real love. Heated Rivalry is produced by Accent Aigu Entertainment.
Also starring in Heated Rivalry is an ensemble cast that includes François Arnaud as Scott Hunter, Robbie G.K. as Kip Grady, Christina Chang and Dylan Walsh as Yuna and David Hollander, Sophie Nélisse as Rose Landry, and Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova as Svetlana.
The HEATED RIVALRY marathon will open in select New Zealand cinemas on December 5. Tickets are on sale now.
